Chelsea are getting ready to get back to Premier League football once again, just a short time after completing last season’s campaign.
The Blues face Brighton at home on Monday night and it could be a good chance to see a number of new Chelsea signings wearing blue in a competitive match for the first time.
Lampard still has a big squad to chose from, with many players expected to leave still being at the club for now.
There is a good few weeks left in this transfer window though, and his squad is expected to shrink from now until the end of the window.
But the Chelsea head coach has been addressing the media today ahead of the game on Monday and he has given the latest team news and injury updates.
There will be no Ben Chilwell or Hakim Ziyech, Lampard confirmed. Both have small injuries.
Thiago Silva is in London now but he won’t be training yet so is unlikely to be in contention for Monday.
Apart from that, Lampard confirms they are pretty good apart from Billy Gilmour’s long term injury. This means both Christian Pulisic could feature after injury, and new arrivals Timo Werner and Kai Havertz could both also start the match.
