#CHESEV: Watch Chelsea vs Sevilla Live Streaming Match Free on TV

Chelsea start their Champions League campaign with a home tie against last season’s Europa League winners Sevilla on Tuesday at 8pm.

Frank Lampard’s side exited the competition last term in dismal fashion, losing 7-1 on aggregate to eventual champions Bayern Munich in the knockout stages.

As such, the Blues’ squad underwent major surgery in the summer transfer window, but the defensive frailties of last season have remained a concerning blot on his tenure, typified by Chelsea’s late collapse against Southampton over the weekend.

Timo Werner and Kai Havertz simultaneously opened their league accounts for the season against the Saints but that was somewhat overshadowed as Jannik Vestergaard nicked a point for his side at the death.

Sevilla represent another tricky opponent for Lampard to pit his wits against. And in this first ever meeting between these two clubs, Lampard will be hoping to end a dire run of just one win in nine Champions League matches against Spanish opposition for Chelsea.

Chelsea & Sevilla’s previous line-ups:

  • Chelsea (vs Southampton): Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Chilwell; Jorginho, Kante, Havertz, Pulisic, Mount; Werner.

  • Sevilla (vs Granada): Bono; Navas, Gomez, Carlos, Escudero; Fernando, Jordan, Rakitic; Suso, Munir, Fernandez.

Lampard will remain without summer signing Edouard Mendy, who is struggling with a thigh injury, so the Chelsea boss must decided whether to stick or twist with Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was guilty of another clanger against the Saints.

Elsewhere, Thiago Silva is available for selection after missing the Southampton match, which will be a huge boost to Lampard, who can call upon a centre-back who featured in the Champions League final last season. Hakim Ziyech could also feature from the off.

For Sevilla, Julen Lopetegui will be without star centre-back Jules Kounde, which means Sergi Gomez will likely deputise in his absence.

Players to watch:

  • Chelsea: Now that he is off the mark in the Premier League Chelsea fans will be hoping to see the very best of Timo Werner, and this is a competition which the German marksman has an affection for. Having been directly involved in nine goals across his last 11 Champions League appearances, Werner will be looking to translate his RB Leipzig form over to west London in European competition. Should he net against Sevilla on Tuesday then he will become the third German player to find the back of the net in the Champions League for Chelsea, joining compatriots Michael Ballack (four goals) and Andre Schurrle (two) in the Stamford Bridge history books.
  • Sevilla: Lopetegui’s side have made a tentative start to the new La Liga season, recently losing 1-0 to Granada, which places them 10th in the table after four games. The ex-Real Madrid manager will therefore be looking for a response, and what better way to bounce back than in London against a heavyweight of the English game. Sevilla recently put Manchester United to the sword in continental football, beating Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in last season’s Europa League semi-finals, and Lopetegui will be eager to strike twice in quick succession against another English club. Without Jules Kounde, his job to stifle the attacking presence of Werner is made all the more difficult though, but Diego Carlos should feature and the Brazilian will be hoping to match his performance in the Europa League final against Inter, where his overhead kick caught a fortuitous deflection off Romelu Lukaku and ended up in the back of the net to seal a record sixth title.

Scoreline prediction: Chelsea 3-2 Sevilla
