This was a record-setting 14th success for the north London club, and it’s one that could make the summer a much enjoyable experience for Gunners fans around the world.
Chelsea took the lead in the Heads Up FA Cup final inside five minutes through Christian Pulisic’s smart finish but then fell victim to the brilliance of Aubameyang, who was also Arsenal’s hero when he scored twice in the semi-final win over Manchester United.
Two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw Arsenal come from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley and ensured they did not suffer the embarrassment of missing out on European football next season for the first time in 25 years.
The defeat was heartbreaking for Chelsea and Frank Lampard but the Injury setback worsened the situation as Chelsea saw two of their most important players Christian Pulisic and Azpiliqueta taken off.
Frank Lampard after the match revealed that Pulisic’s injury is a hamstring strain but will need scanning. Lampard also went as far as saying that he won’t be fit for next week’s game, meaning the injury could very well end Pulisic’s first season at Chelsea.
His injury is a big blow though, as he’s been Chelsea’s most important player in attack since the restart. Chelsea will face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League tie.
However, Chelsea fans have something to cheer for as their star man Christian Pulisic just posted on Instagram:”Gave it everything we had. Wasn’t our day.. Thank you guys for the surport, I’ll be back in no time.”
Chelsea fans flooded his account wishing the American a quick recovery ahead of next season following the Injury; which will automatically rule him out of Bayern Munich clash.
Yesterday’s final could be his last match in a Blue jersey this season if Chelsea didn’t knock Bayern Munich out of the Champions League on Saturday. The American winger had an impressive first season in England scoring 11 times and assisting 10 times in 23 appearances.
