Deal near completion as Chelsea submit official opening offer for third summer signing

Chelsea were thumped by Arsenal in the FA Cup at Wembley last night but Lampard is on course to conquer the League next term and put together a formidable squad.

Blues have signed on Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig but they are not resting on their onus to bolster their squad.

Kai Havert is firmly on the radar of Chelsea and according to emerging reports, Chelsea have submitted an opening bid to sign the aforementioned midfielder.

The Blues have apparently tabled a £45million up-front fee with £9m in add-ons, reports Express Sports.

Havertz has being in barnstorming form since last season with 29 goals in 64 games for Bayer Leverkusen.

The ambidextrous midfielder has drawn comparison with Mesut Ozil because his ability to retain ball possession and provide inch-perfect passes for the players ahead of him.

Chelsea are not short of midfielder Havertz will provide for Lampard a creative option that can score goals and play from the flank as well.

It is left to be seen if Leverkusen will accept the offers of Chelsea.
