How Chelsea Could Line Up Against Brighton With 3 New Signings Out Of The Matchday Squad

Frank Lampard will have to chose from a limited squad when the game against Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday comes. The blues will not have 3 of their new players for selection during the game. Ben Chilwell is still stepping up his recovery from the injury he sustained last season while playing for Leicester City.

Thiago Silva is not yet ready to start the game having had limited training while Hakim Ziyech is still out injured. Lampard could therefore go with this squad.
Kepa Arrizabalaga will start on the post with Edouard Mendy not yet a Chelsea player. The goalkeeper will be signed soon with a fee reportedly agreed but before then Kepa will have to start.
Ceaser Azpilicueta will start at the right back with Reece James out injured. Marcos Alonso could also start on the left back position with Chilwell still unwell.
The centre back positions could see Kurt Zouma and Rudiger partnering. Thiago Silva could start from next weekend. The central midfield role could be played by Loftus Cheek and Kante with Kovacic serving a match ban for the red card he received during the FA cup finals against Chelsea.
Mason Mount could start as a central attacking midfielder with Kai Havertz coming from the right midfied position. With Ziyech injured Lampard could improvise that position to fit in a good attack. Hudson Odoi could start from the left midfied position and Timo Werner from the center forward.
This squad will be enough to cause Brighton problems and perhaps get their three points.
